Dr. Helmut M. Schühsler is the Managing Partner of TVM Capital and is responsible for the TVM Life Science Practice. He also serves as Immediate Past Chairman of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) after his Chairmanship ended on June 19 2008.
During his 18 year tenure, Dr. Schühsler built the life science practice to be a leader in Europe and the US with 820m ($1.3bn) under management. He led more than 20 investments in life sciences and has served on various German academic, government and industry committees since 1990, including as a member of the senate of the Hermann von Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren (HGF).
Dr. Schühsler is the Chairman on the Supervisory Board of Curacyte AG (Munich and Jena, Germany, and Durham, NC) and Develogen AG (Göttingen, Germany). He is a member of the Supervisory Board of Max-Planck Innovation GmbH, the technology transfer institution of the Max Planck Society; a member of the International Advisory Board of National Technology Enterprises Company (NTEC), Kuwait; and a member of the Advisory Board of Evolvence India Life Sciences Fund, Hyderabad, India.
