TVM Capital Named 2008 German Private Equity Firm of the Year by Private Equity International
March 2, 2009, Munich, Germany – TVM Capital has been named by Private Equity International as the 2008 German Private Equity Firm of the Year.
The 2008 Global Private Equity Awards were announced today by Private Equity International and are the result of more than 50,000 votes cast by global private equity professionals.
“We are honored to receive this award,” said Dr. Helmut Schühsler, a managing partner of TVM Capital. “It validates the TVM Capital team’s efforts to support early and commercial-stage companies in the execution of their growth plans as true long-term strategic partners. For many years, our focus has been on management, operational improvement and opportunities in international markets.”
In the last two years, TVM Capital has added an increased focus on commercial stage venture capital in Europe, as well as "Mittelstand" growth capital investments in entrepreneur led or family owned life sciences businesses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to the traditional venture activities the firm has historically maintained for more than 25 years in its two key investment sectors, life sciences and technology.

This long-term dedication has resulted in strong exits as demonstrated by Pharmasset, Sirna and Sirtris in 2007 and 2008.”
With the more reasoned company valuations of the current economic crisis, the firm believes both the technology and life science markets will continue to be ripe for the diversified international investing strategy of TVM Capital.
