ExtendMedia Expands Into Asia-Pacific Market Through Strategic Partnership With UB Cross, Inc., a Mitsubishi Affiliate

Companies to Offer Three-Screen Video Platform and Global Consulting Services to Media Companies, Telecom Operators and CE Manufacturers

BOSTON, Mass. - August 19, 2008 - ExtendMedia Corporation, a provider of digital content services software, today announced it has expanded into the Japanese market through a strategic partnership with UB Cross, Inc., an affiliate of Mitsubishi Corporation. Under the agreement, UB Cross, Inc. will resell and deploy ExtendMedia's OpenCASE™ platform which allows service operators to more efficiently operate an online video business and deliver a higher quality, on-demand, branded video experience to the end consumer. The agreement also accelerates UB Cross Inc.'s evolution from traditional post production into IP-based digital media management and distribution.

"We are constantly looking for ways to provide media distributors flexibility in delivering premium content to their end-users," said Yuichiro Hara, President/CEO of UB Cross, Inc. "ExtendMedia's OpenCASE -- proven through many successful implementations in North America -- alleviates the heavy lifting required by our customers and can quickly, efficiently and securely deliver premium entertainment distribution across three screens."

OpenCASE enables content rights holders and distributors to quickly create, manage, secure and monetize content services across broadband, TV and mobile devices. OpenCASE is an end-to-end, enterprise-class digital content services delivery platform that can be rapidly deployed and integrated into existing systems, with modules that can be used separately or together for automated asset management workflow, metadata management, DRM, encoding, commerce model support, publishing and distribution, and added ease and flexibility for a rich broadband video experience.

This announcement builds on a string of recent major customer announcements and highlights the unprecedented flexibility OpenCASE provides to the operators of high-volume video delivery services. This flexibility includes:

>>Choice of deployment model - hosted or on-premises deployment
>>Flexible business models - ad-supported video or commerce-based transactions
>>Multiple distribution methods - download, streaming, P2P and P4P
>>Delivery to any screen - PC, TV, portable or mobile devices

"Our partnership with Mitsubishi and UB Cross is a significant one that allows ExtendMedia to create an imprint on a global scale," said Keith Kocho, President and Founder, ExtendMedia. "Based on initial reaction from service operators in Japan, we anticipate strong demand for our offerings."

UB Cross plans to make the OpenCASE technologies available to its customers immediately.
